The Micropelt GmbH is a technology enterprise founded by the Infineon Technologies AG in 2006, arisen from a 8-year-old developing cooperation with the Frauenhofer institute of physical measuring technology (IPM) in Freiburg. Micropelt develops, produces and expels miniaturised thermo generators, Peltier coolers and sensors. Micropelt occupies currently 20 employees in the company headquarter in Freiburg, the location of the pilot's production. A production facility in Halle, Sachsen-Anhalt with a capacity of 10 millions thermo-electronic generators and coolers took up the production in the 4th quarter in 2010.
